Tammy Gurski
Tammy began her journey with me, like the majority of people, with the primary objective of weight loss. Over the years I have watched her transform and transition, where she began to embrace and prioritize overall health and wellness, not just fat loss. Having never ran more than 10km, in 2019, Tammy trained and completed her first half marathon 4 months later in Victoria. In 2021, even with my words of caution, Tammy focused and completed the extreme “75 Hard”(days in a row) program which had her exercise every day (twice for 45min) amongst many other requirements. Last year, after training on the local mountains for 4 months, Tammy successfully lugged a 30 lbs. backpack, 50km in total, to bring her to the tip of the Island, Cape Scott. Currently, she can be found cycling, currently training for a 4 day cycle trip in Scotland where she will pedal 40 miles per day on average. Did I happen to mention, I see Tammy at 5:00 am each week in the gym!!? How is that for commitment!!
What I admire is how Tammy has embraced a better-rounded, sustainable attitude when it comes to both her fitness and nutrition. Previously, like so many others, she measured her success primarily by the number that reflected back to her from the scale. Even though Tammy has maintained 17lbs of fat loss for 15 years, which was no longer her sole objective. Tammy has set and crushed so many fitness goals along the way and prioritized the nutrients she puts into her body. Tammy not only lives the life but she also has become a role model by supporting and encouraging so many others. It has been such a privilege for me to watch and be a part of her journey.
